Tidy Kiwi Investigations....

We in Room 3 pride ourselves on a tidy classroom. Every afternoon we work hard to ensure our room looks its best before we leave.

Often at assemblies we wonder why we don't win the Tidy Kiwi award, so we wrote Mr Coley the caretaker at our school this letter:

Dear Mr Coley

We are writing to you to find out more about Tidy Kiwi.
Do you check the rooms every day? Leo thinks you only check on Thursdays, is this true? We think we tidy our class well every day, what more can we do to improve? How important is a tidy cloak bay and the outside area around it? We share our cloak bays and Kowhai area with Rooms 1 and 2 does this effect our chances of winning? Also are we being judged on the toilet area?
We would love for you to come visit us in Room 3 to talk about this further.

Yours sincerely

The people of Room 3

Mr Coley wrote a letter in reply saying he would love to come and see us and discuss the Tidy Kiwi process.....

Mr Coley explained to us our responsibilities in tidying up our room and the cloak bay areas. He also made useful suggestions about picking up larger pieces of paper that hide under the tables as the vacuum cleaners find our new carpet difficult to clean.

Mr Coley reminded us that there are eight classrooms in our school that do a great job in cleaning their learning environment s and to win Tidy Kiwi takes a lot of hard work.

We found out that Mr Coley checks the classrooms everyday but doesn't make the final decision until Thursday afternoon.

We were very grateful that Mr Coley took the time to come and talk with us about Tidy Kiwi and the ways we could improve our own efforts.
